New Pickup Truck Cargo Website – www.cargocatch.com

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

After a ton of requests and the simple demand for a better site, the need for fewer customer clicks to reach their product destination and the fact that we finally found a web development company we can count on and trust, Graham Solutions has just released their new skin for www.cargocatch.com, a truck and auto accessory monster that is growing by the day.

Created by Bill Graham and designed by ASF Design of Canada, we are very proud of our new site. Though we have not created our new blog design yet which will enable customers to read about new truck accessory products and services we offer, we have launched the new “skin”, including all new products for truck cargo accessories and related vehicle products and services.

Not only do our customers now know that we sell truck accessories, as opposed to before when you didn’t know what the heck we did because our company is so diverse, they now can easily reach the products they’re looking for in fewer clicks, as well as view multiple detailed images of products, and video of many of the products we feature at the bottom of the product detail page.

The diversity and evolution of our company has lead us to this current site.  About 10 years ago, Bill Graham developed a cargo management product for pickup trucks call ‘CargoCatch’ to hold groceries and other small cargo items in the rear of his pickup truck bed.  This product was originally licensed to Bully Motorsports and offered in 2 sizes as ‘Pac Mule’, but their marketing was short of aggressive, and now is being re-designed by Graham and Load Handler of Chicago, to be released early this summer as ‘CargoCatch’, including a new ‘handcrank’ option for easier mounting.  Load Handler is a smaller niche company and has a more aggressive marketing plan for ‘CargoCatch’.

Shortly thereafter, Graham began small manufacturing of the product in San Diego, California and Mexico.  It was an evolution of grand proportions that he had no idea he would take on, eventually becoming one of the premier internet based resellers of truck cargo nets and other truck accessories, as well as many other accessories for many different types of vehicles including cars, boats, RV’s, SUV’s, ATV’s, Motorcycles and UTV’s.

We hope you take the opportunity to visit our new site and check out some of the videos, particularly those of Diamondback ATV products, which are the hottest new truck cover ATV based products available today.

Graham Solutions also offers contract sewing services in San Diego, California and Tecate, Mexico for multiple products, as well as the design and manufacture of heavy duty pickup truck cargo nets and more, Made in the USA.  In addition, if you’re an inventor, product developer or entrepreneur,  we can assist you with business start-up consulting, website development, sampling and prototyping of many products from a variety of industries including auto, aviation, marine, military and government.

We look forward to serving you.  Call us for a quote on any of our products and services.

Compact Size Pac Mule does well in Tough Times

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Since the stock market plummeted and the economy has continued to look bleak, a ton of people, small truck enthusiasts especially, have called asking, and purchasing, the Medium Pac Mule for small to medium size pickup trucks.

The Medium Pac Mule by Graham Solutions and Bully Truck is the ultimate solution to small pickup truck cargo management, and saving money!!.  The nice thing about Pac Mule is that the whole unit weighs less than 10 pounds and can be easily installed and removed within seconds from the bed of your pickup.

And if you buy now, the price is only $89.99 AND you get FREE replacement parts for life!!  The adjustable end pieces for the rods will last for years, but if exposed to the elements in an open bed truck, will most likely need to be replaced after about 2 years.

People are realizing that tool boxes, bed extenders and the like, great products mind you, are just too expensive and difficult to deal with and are usually permanently or semi-permanently attached to the truck bed, especially when you’re dealing with the organization of small cargo and groceries.

With Pac Mule, it’s in less than 30 seconds, out in less than 10, and can just be collapsed and tossed either in the garage or behind the seats.  And it requires absolutely no drilling or gluing of any kind, only pressure.  If it gets dirty, just toss it in the washing machine and when you take it out, hang it up and when it dries, it looks as good as new!!

Pac Mule is also easily mounted either at the bulkhead near the cab or at the tailgate.  Use it as a cargo bar, a cargo net, a cargo holder or a truck tool holder.

It’s the light, tough, great looking, versatile and best value for the price new product for small cargo that will save you a ton of money in medical bills over the long run!!

How Pac Mule Cargo Net for Pickups Got Started

Monday, October 6th, 2008

It was back in 1995 and I traveled to the grocery store and the auto supply store in Redwood City, California. I was actually driving a convertible Volkswagen rabbit, orange and black. I lived on Whipple. It was only about 5 or 6 miles round trip and took about 2 hours, I was taking my time.

I went to Safeway, then to Kragen Auto, and had about 10 grocery bags or so, some of them sitting on the front seat and rear seats and floor of passenger area. Of course when I got back to the newly paved driveway of my apartment complex, I stopped directly in front of the first apartment which was mine, instead of parking in the back.

I started to unload the groceries, walked over to the passenger side door, opened it up, and a jar of Best Foods Mayonnaise dropped out onto Bob’s, my WWII Vet Landlord’s newly paved, perfectly black smooth driveway. It was just my luck that Bob was driving his mint Chevy pickup in to collect someone’s late rent. Of course he saw what happened as I was picking up the glass off his new driveway.

Bob and I always got along. He would tell me stories about getting ambushed in the war. At any rate that day Bob was pissed at me and I felt kinda bad about it, so I started drawing (see image above) a cargo net suspended by short poles for the rear of the rabbit.

The idea lay dormant for 6 years, when watching a Padres game on TV while living in an apartment in San Diego, I got bored. I took out my original drawings and started adapting my original design for the rabbit with the pickup truck I had parked in my driveway downstairs. Subsequently, the CargoCatch, a.k.a. Bully Pac Mule Cargo Holder for pickup trucks was born.

More to come re: the history of Pac Mule Cargo Holder in this category.

Bully Motorsports Pac Mule Pickup Truck Cargo Holder – Informative

How other Truck Organizer Products Compare to Pac Mule Cargo Net

If you look in the back of any pickup truck bed, you’re bound to see some kind of string, bungee cord, rope or other restraint line either strung from one tie down to another, or just hanging there. You’re also likely to see all sorts of things that have been tossed in there like bags, tools, coolers, coffee mugs, other truck cargo nets, trash and whatever else ends up back there.

Many people don’t want to invest the time, money and headache of installing a permanently mounted truck box, especially if they don’t use it for work, not to mention the fact that truck boxes don’t really work well for holding groceries when they’re stuffed with tools and such.

A bed extender is great for restraining large objects, but you rarely see bed extenders restraining groceries and such unless the whole area is filled with groceries. Otherwise, the bags of groceries will still end up turned over. Most people use the bed extender specifically to extend the bed. Rarely do you see people using it the other way unless they’re on a road trip and have plenty of supplies to fill that vacant space.

The Pac Mule Cargo Net is perfect for small items, and in addition, can be used in conjunction with the bed extender or tool box because you can move it anywhere in the truck bed since is not permanently mounted.

An ordinary bungee cargo net is worthless for groceries. And if you restrain something small and light enough to fit inside one, it’s hard to get it out. You have to pull the cargo net to get at something inside of it. With the Pac Mule Cargo Net, you just reach right in and you’re done. A bungee cargo net is difficult to store because they get all tangled up. The Pac Mule Cargo Net can be easily stored in the cab behind the seats or hung up on bike hooks in the garage.

Most trucks come with tie downs or anchors in all four corners of the bed, usually positioned about half way up on the inside. Sometimes you see bungee cords strung across the bed from these tie downs, not really serving any constructive purpose, except to make it look like you use the back of your truck. The Pac Mule Cargo Net eliminates this wasted space and gives you plenty of room to put your gas cans, coolers, ropes, small tools, etc… With the Pac Mule Cargo Net, the tie downs can be used to install a cable lock as a theft deterrent.

Cargo bars can be useful in certain situations, but usually with larger items that simply need to be restrained from sliding back and forth. The Pac Mule Cargo Net actually holds things inside the partitioned spaces. It can also be used simultaneously as a cargo restraint bar for larger objects.

Cargo gates and the like are also useful under certain circumstances and can add strength and utility to a pickup truck bed. The Pac Mule Cargo Net does that, and it also gives you the flexibility to just toss stuff in knowing that it’s not going to slide around. A Pac Mule Cargo Net used in conjunction with a cargo gate is an excellent solution to moving cargo with extra security.

Bungee cords are useful for quick tie down jobs but should not be relied on to restrain objects that could fly out of the bed and either injure someone else or cause an accident. Once you get the Pac Mule Cargo Net cranked in nice and tight, you can feel comfortable that it will durably restrain objects that need to stay in the bed of the truck. Bungee cords may also be used in conjunction with the Pac Mule Cargo Net.

Tonneau covers and camper shells are a great way to keep items from leaving the truck bed and a Pac Mule Cargo Net used in conjunction with one of these is the optimal solution to pickup truck bed organization and restraint, especially for smaller items.

What Makes the Pac Mule Cargo Net a Better Solution to Pickup Truck Cargo Management?

Without any restraint at all, your cargo slides all over your truck bed and gets broken or tangled up. Some things can even fly out when you’re driving on the freeway and injure people or cause accidents.

The problem is that the cargo restraint devices you’ve tried are not very flexible or convenient. And how many solutions have you seen that actually do the job with groceries?

Why the Pac Mule Cargo Net is the Most Versatile Solution to Cargo Restraint for Pickup Trucks

The Pac Mule Cargo Net was invented by William Graham when he got tired of having cargo strewn all over the bed of his pickup truck. Cargo nets, bed extenders and truck boxes just did not do the job. They did not restrain or control the cargo adequately, and since they did not organize cargo, storage capacity was limited. So Graham drew up sketches, experimented with numerous mockups, and manufactured some prototypes. The end result is Pac Mule Cargo Net, a truly innovative breakthrough in pickup truck cargo management.

The Need for Cargo Restraint in Pickup Trucks

You use your pickup truck for all sorts of reasons. Hauling around sports gear to your kids soccer or Little League games. Groceries. Stuff from Home Depot. Electronics equipment. Dozens of bags after a morning of shopping at Wal-Mart.

But cargo control and storage in pickup trucks is challenging. Grocery bags and other miscellaneous items can slide all over the place and make a total mess by the time you reach your destination. Stopgap measures such as ropes, bungee cords and cargo nets don’t work well and they’re difficult to use, unreliable and unattractive.

As a result of not having a specific place to put things, you waste time and energy picking up messes in the bed, cab and front seat of your pickup. Pickup truck drivers are tired of things rolling around in their truck beds. A better cargo restraint device is needed. The solution is Pac Mule Cargo Net.

Pac Mule Cargo Net: The Solution to Cargo Control

Some people don’t want to have to install a permanent truck box or bed extender in their pickup truck, and cargo nets just don’t hack it when it comes to really being able to manipulate and properly utilize the efficiency of your truck bed. Because the Pac Mule Cargo Net is not permanently mounted in your truck bed, you can move it anywhere that you desire in the bed in order to manipulate the space and utility of your truck.

The cargo restraint system features heavy duty construction and quality materials. Its innovative use of space will provide you with the flexibility to carry and neatly store virtually any cargo in your truck bed.

In specific:

Please complete these 3 easy steps to determine the right size for your truck:

Step 1: Decide where the rod ends will be mounted.

Step 2: Measure the distance between those two points in inches from one side of the truck to the other side.

Step 3: Choose the right size based on that distance.

Helpful Hints

  • Don’t try to guess the size that will fit a truck. Choose carefully or ask.
  • Remember, no two truck beds are exactly alike. Factors like width, depth, location of mounting in bed, type of bed-liner, etc., will determine which Pac Mule best suits your needs. Use a measuring tape to ensure you get the right size.
  • You’ll only need to measure the width of the bed, specifically the distance between the two tension-rod mounting points. This may be either on the lip/rail or under it.
