10 Items Every ATV Rider Should Have With Them

Have an ATV? If you love going off-road or you are new to the game, there are some things that you should always have with you. Below is a list of the 10 items that you should bring with you when you go out on an ATV.

Tire Repair Kit

The last thing you want is to have a flat tire to spoil your fun. You want to have a repair kit that includes a small air compressor, a tire sealant, and tire plugs.

Recovery Kit

You never know when you can get stuck. Even when you have an ATV with a winch, you want to have snatch blocks, D-ring shackles, safety gloves, tree straps and tow ropes.

Water

This is something that you’re always going to want to have with you. When you head out onto those trails make sure that there’s a lot of water in the cooler. You also want to have a straw for purifying water in case you should run out.

Cell Phone

Chances are that you already have this with you anyway, but this is important when you are going on trails. You should pack it in a ziplock bag so that it doesn’t get wet. You can also use it for taking some pictures of the gorgeous scenery.

GPS

This is a good thing to have to help keep you from getting lost. Most ATVs come equipped with a minimum of one auxiliary DC plugs, so having a GPS with you is smart. Even if you don’t use it to keep from getting lost, it can track the ride. If you don’t have a regular GPS, use the one on your phone.

Snack Food

You’re going to be out in the fresh air. Chances are you’re going to get hungry. Granola bars, trail mix, and beef jerky make great snacks for on the go. If you’re going to be gone for a while, non-perishable sandwiches are also a good choice.

Jump Box

There are portable options for jump boxes. You never know when you’re going to lose power, so having one of these on your ride is essential. The last thing you want is to be stranded.

First Aid

You’re going to be out in the wilderness while riding. You want to make sure you’re prepared for every situation. Bring some alcohol pads, gauze pads, bandages, big trauma pads, cleansing wipes, tape, compass, whistle, mylar blanket, knife, sewing kit, glow sticks, flashlight, safety pins, pads for sting relief, and scissors.

Additional Gas

Just like you don’t want to be stranded without power, you don’t want to be stranded without gas. Along with making sure that you don’t run out, it will allow you to keep going.

Tools

Bring some tools with you for basic jobs, so you’re able to troubleshoot any type of mechanical problems that might arise. You should have things in your bag like Allen wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers and even some extra spark plugs just in case.

These items will help you stay safe and keep you prepared for anything. You want to have fun and enjoy yourself, but you also need to know that anything can happen. That’s why you want to keep these things with you when you’re on your ATV.
