Load Handler Truck Bed Unloader

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Your truck is loaded with rock, gravel, bark, wood chippings or whatever you use your truck for to haul. You’re a gardener, a construction worker, or just a backyard junkie. You get to your destination, you get out of your truck, then you think to yourself “How the hell am I going to get this crap out of the back of the truck?”. You don’t want to do it because you just ate lunch before returning to the dump site. You’re tired, full and all you want is to crack a Spaten and call it a day. You think about asking your neighbors kid to shovel out the load, but you don’t want to kick down the cash. So, you mosey on in to the garage, bummed, not looking forward to the upcoming backbreaking job ahead of you. What a nightmare.

Well guess what folks? We have an easy answer to all of your shoveling woes. The LoadHandler, by LoadHandler of Libertyville, IL. What a concept and what a great product. It only costs about the same as the kid next door would demand on a Friday night for this kind of job if he’s going to miss his rave, and it’s easy as pie to mount, use and remove.

The LH3000 fits any Full-Size pickup (excluding step-sides and Toyota T-100 & Tundra 2006 & older), and is especially suited for 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickups. Perfect for commercial applications. Also frequently adapted for use on trailer, but modifications by consumer may be required.

The LH3000 works the same as the LH2000 but is substantially “beefier” with steel brackets and buckles, factory-installed sealed ball-bearings, a heavy-duty “drive-dog” housing for handle insertion, and solid-steel ends on the Roller Bar. The dragsheet is the same ripstop Polypropylene weave as on the LH2000, but 2 inches wider.

Spare yourself the backbreaking work of unloading rock, gravel, firewood, sand, trash, mulch, dirt, yard waste, equipment, hay bales, feed bags, manure, roofing shingles, furniture or anything else you may haul in your pickup. Finish jobs faster with LOADHANDLER®.

Padded brackets and tie down straps secure the LOADHANDLER® to any tailgate — installs or removes in about a minute.

The LOADHANDLER® consists of a heavy-gauge poly fabric rolled onto a steel bar that runs the length of the tailgate. To load, just unroll the dragsheet to cover your truck bed. To unload, lower the tailgate, insert the crank handle into the end of the roller bar and rewind the dragsheet.

The LOADHANDLER® unloads your cargo in as little as 30 seconds.

CargoCatch Truck Bed Cargo Holder for Full Size Trucks

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

The CargoCatch by Graham Solutions is the most innovative pickup truck cargo holder in the automotive aftermarket and is on its way back to you after experiencing poor marketing by Pilot Automotive, the company who originally licensed the patent.

You’ll see trucks driving down the freeway, or parked on the side of the road, with a complete mess in the bed of their truck, typically ropes or bungee cords all tangled up. You take a second look, and say to yourself “What a mess”. Not only did we experience this ourselves with our Toyota Tundra, we decided to do something about it. Some other companies sell cheap similar designs that just don’t hold up under pressure. They use 3M tape or you can drill holes in your truck. There had to be a better solution.

So, one day while watching a San Diego Padres game in his apartment in San Diego, Bill Graham started sketching a design that would ultimately become a reality. He started off at good old Home Depot, purchased some grommets and a couple of adjustable shower rods and off he went back home. He noticed the top rails of the truck bed were rarely used for anything and ended up designing a new sort of technology using UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) tooled properly in conjunction with a heavy duty carriage bolt and a fat wingnut and hard rubber end piece that grabs the side rail under pressure.

Several months later, after about 20 prototypes, Bill worked with Wayne Lundberg of the SBDITC (Small Business Development & International Trade Center), a retired engineer who loved to tweak stuff in his shop and the two of them came up with the “Leveling Screw Jack”, now used with the CargoCatch to stabilize the rods on the truck’s rail on either side.

CargoCatch is now under new license with a smaller niche company out of Libertyville, IL named Load Handler who also specializes in cargo management for pickup trucks. Load Handler and Graham are currently working with Chinese engineers to change the design slightly and late summer the unit will be available for full size pick up trucks only with bed widths of 62″ or greater.

If you’d like more information on the CargoCatch, or have questions regarding your truck, please contact us. We’re also taking backorders at this time. The CargoCatch can be popped in and out of the truck within 10 seconds.

Custom Mesh Nets for Gulf Oil Spill

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

Recently Graham Solutions, premier designer and manufacturer of custom cargo nets, was contacted by Revcom/Alsocup of Corona, CA to quote a bunch of custom designed mesh cargo nets to help clean up the oil on the beaches and waterways near the Gulf of Mexico states.

As the government and BP continue to lag on this issue, we’ve discovered something very interesting.  This company Revcom who is currently working on generating a quote for the EPA, Fish and Game, Oil Clean-up crews and the Federal Government, has a solution using polymer pellets which have, through many studies, proven extremely effective for cleaning up oil by absorbing the oil and creating great big pancakes of oil and polymer which can be quickly disposed of and/or recycled.  Watch video below to see how this product works.

The thing we found interesting was that the companies or organizations that are responsible for cleaning up the oil, or who are normally contracted to do so, do not like to use these polymer pellets.  Why?  Because it reduces their billable hours by up to 75% according to Dave Naylor of Revcom/Alsocup.  When we heard this we couldn’t believe it.  While animals, birds and other sea life are dying by the thousands and the waters are being polluted, not to mention all the money it’s costing our fishing, other industries and our economy for crying out loud, these people are worried about making money off it.  This is a scandal that needs to be known to the public.  And we fear that this scandalous activity goes much deeper than just the clean-up crews.

So, what is our role in this with regard to making custom cargo mesh nets?  Well, it’s really very simple.  While these cleaning crews walk around with shovels scooping up oil, they could be tossing many of the mesh pillows that we could sew, filled with the polymer pellets, on the beaches, shallow waters, marshes, etc…to be retrieved easily later, then to be recycled and used again.  This would save an enormous amount of time and money.  We can also construct a ‘curtain’ type of mesh net containing pellet holding cells that would be hung from the booms of boats  or toss the pillows into a shrimp boat ‘scooper’ which would slowly drag these curtains filled with the polymer pellet along the water surface in the open ocean and marshes, etc…

Why is this not being done already?  We are seriously disturbed by the quality and time of response from our government and these other organizations.   We hope you watch the video below and maybe speak out about it!
